Making it easy to update the community network web site and even invite organizations to have a web site within your site that they can maintain.
To make publishing to the site easy, authorized content contributors can utilize any third party publishing application (i.e., Dreamweaver, FrontPage, etc.) or utilize a “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG) editor that operates within your web browser to submit content to the site.
Site Administrator and authorized publishers will be able to:
- Add web pages to the site
- Sort the order of pages in the navigational menu
- Create online registration forms
- Upload files or documents into the file library
- Format text and add bulleted and numbered lists
- Populate the image library and place images anywhere on the site
- Add hyperlinks to related web sites or documents on any page
This approach to submitting content effectively addresses the needs of the sophisticated technical users, such as site administrators and experienced web professionals, as well as the needs of the non-technical people, such as community volunteers.
Empowered to Delegate Site Maintenance and Create Private Areas
The site administrator will be empowered to:
- Delegate maintenance of page(s) to individuals within the organization (i.e., sections dedicated to training can be maintained by trainers; a Health Education section can be delegated to be maintained by employees or advocates of the local hospital, etc.)
- Easily create a site within the system for an organization and delegate maintenance of the site to an individual at that organization (i.e., non-profit organizations and faith-based groups can have a site within a community network site)
- Easily create private areas of the site which will be accessible only to authorized users (i.e., the board of directors can have a private area to collaborate and retrieve documents such as meeting agendas and minutes)
